Grape varieties

This section introduces you to a few of the main grape varieties grown in Québec. Our rigorous climate motivated our grape growers to find new species of vine, thus giving the world of wine new flavours. For you to discover!

FrontenacDisplay the wines belonging to this grape variety
DescriptionThe newcomer, originating from the hybridization program at the University of Minnesota. A cross between Landot 4511 and V. Riparia 89. One of the most productive at the lowest cost. Gives the best red wines and rosés. Late maturity limit its cultivation to the best sites in southern Quebec.  
Wine styleFine and complex wine with lots of body, very high in alcohol, beautiful color and aromas of black cherries and sometimes chocolate. 
Resistance to cold–27 ℃
